Dr. Guyton believes that full support of excellent public education for all students is the most important investment that we can make as a society. She maintains that in order to achieve our goal of graduating students who can contribute to society and support their families, it is necessary to support the “whole child” and those who teach them.  She has fiercely opposed high stakes testing for students and teachers and initiated and chaired the Maryland State Board of Education Mental Health Committee focused on making substantive regulatory changes to reduce student suicide and sex trafficking in our school system. Over the past several years she has been dedicated to school safety and will continue to work tirelessly to support law enforcement and school administrators in their efforts to protect our students and teachers as your State Delegate.

She has a strong record of working across the aisle in a bi-partisan manner with the Hogan administration, General Assembly and Teacher unions to support and initiate impactful policy.
